The Service Format
Our service during the reopening phase will look a bit different. Mindful that we are guarding against COVID infection, we will seek to keep the whole service within 60 minutes. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly, which will enable the whole church to participate as members take turns attending in person. Instead of reciting the 10 Commandments as we normally do when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we will have a summary of the law or a specific commandment right before the confession of sin. To administer the Lord’s Supper, we will be using sealed, self-contained units containing bread and grape juice that people will pick up as they come through the sanctuary door. This will maintain social distance since the elements will not be passed out. If you cannot eat bread with gluten, we ask that you bring your own gluten-free bread to the service.
Those Joining the Live Stream
For now, we plan to continue live streaming through the Lord’s Supper to the very end of the service. If you are worshipping from home, we encourage you to meditate on the work of Christ during this portion of the service and look forward to when you can celebrate the Lord’s Supper in person.
Future Plans
For those who need to remain at home while the pandemic lasts, we will be exploring a monthly drive-in service so they can also enjoy the Lord’s Supper.
Thank you for your flexibility as we work through this transitional time with all its challenges.
